Keep in mind that most of these links were sent to me. Aside from acquisition of the Buttons and the Corrugated Rubber, I don't have much first-hand experience with some of these. If there's a correction or if you have a better place to go for some of these items, drop me a line and I'll add the link (For those of you out there who make props, this is where I'd put a link to your site). Most of these are from people who were kind enough to provide a link-- this is just where I happened to collect most of them.
BDUs: gr8gear.com-- they're absolutely wonderful people that are friendly and understanding about returns.
Another source is BDUs Online.
BDU Jacket/Tops: This goes over the gray/dark-gray tank-top combo. See the "Off Duty" section for a pic of the Chief in his. (link to Brigade Quartermaster)
LostnCyber has been cool enough to put together kits to mod existing BDUs into BSG Off-Duty BDUs, if you don't want to scour the web for everything you need. Contact him for one of his kits, as featured on the Off-Duty page.
SIDEARMS: Season One Sidearm Model Kits
BUTTONS:
The Buttons are imported from Italy to Canada by
Capitol Buttons Co. Limited. You can get them imported to the United States by
giving them a call. (Thanks to "Admiral Gumby" of another NBG
Costuming List). All buttonholes on the uniforms are horizontal, except for the
breast-pocket button which is vertical. Some notes on calling Capitol Buttons:
First, they're in Canada. Be prepared for Canadian freight charges as well as
the charge for the phone call. Second, the SPECIFIC item number you will want to
ask for is 64/B4296. All Officers (Junior
and Senior) wear the Brushed Antique Gold.
Enlisted is Brushed Antique Silver. You want the 36
Line, which is approximately 7/8" wide. If they are out, you can
probably get the Plain Antique Gold/Silver-- touching them up with a paint
marker will probably be fine, as another BSG Costumer found out. They take most
US credit cards. Ask them to read the order back to you; orders are a minimum of
one dozen. Make sure they don't try to give you a gross number of buttons, and
make sure you check how they will be shipping them-- else you might end up
paying for overnight service from Canada. I asked for ground post; the buttons
arrived in a bit over six days.

BELTS AND BUCKLES: I ordered the buckles online from a show dog website-- the largest buckle I could find was for 1" buckles, but they are silver metal instead of plastic.
Strapworks.com is a FANTASTIC source of buckles, webbing, nylon, jump rings, and everything else under the sun.
Metal Buckle:
PATCHES: Patchgeeks.com: sells a few patches, and are reasonably decent. For the Shoulder Patches, you will want the 3.5" patches.
However, if you want as close to the "real deal" as you can get, and if GotMaul still has them: Get in touch with him and inquire after the BSG patches he ran on the Screen-Accurate SOMMMERS fabric. I worked on the files, then handed them over to DGasser to finish. I'm proud to have my name associated with them and will happily recommend them to everyone. A bit more than the PatchGeek patches, but the run of custom embroidery on the SOMMERS fabric wasn't cheap. However: Trust me. You'll think they're worth it.
CREW JUMPSUITS: (Orange and Green): While you can use any old orange "penitentiary" jumpsuit and mock it up, I suggest the one from the federal military surplus, as it'll have more of the pockets and overall waist styling that the chief's suit has, which means less work customizing it for BSG: Genuine Issue Flightsuit, Orange This same site also sells BDU pants and other items that can be converted over to fit into the BSG universe.
CORRUGATED RUBBER: (Flight Crew suits; cuffs and wrap-around pocket detailing): I've ordered some from Canal Rubber in New York. It comes in various widths and in two thicknesses-- you will want the 1/8th of an inch (versus 1/4 inch). It's nice and thin, but you will very likely need an awl to get the stuff attached to the suits as it absolutely refuses to be sewn through with my Babylock. I may try to upholstery-punch it with my heavy-duty Singer.
COLLAR AND BREAST INSIGNIA PINS: If you want to try eBay for Pins, here's the search that Jason gave me to use. However, I highly recommend that you get on over to Dewbacks ASAP on Yuku and check out what Mara Jade's Father has in the offering. He is extremely good about updating what he has available and what he doesn't, so don't be That Guy and send him a ton of PMs when you can just have a look at this "What I have in stock" post. (You'll need an account there, but it's free and they're pretty cool)
FLIGHT SUIT MATERIAL: The producers of the show bought out the ENTIRE STOCK of the "pleather/vinyl" that the flight suits are made of. Unless they get another massive order, they're not making any more of it. But just for fun (and if you happen to be a millionaire or something), here's the link to their site: SOMMERS.COM
FOOTWEAR: Primarily Tactical Combat
Boots. One of the varieties that the Marines wear are found here,
and one of the varieties that the Junior Officers (& Helo and Apollo) wear
are here.
Both come from Galls.com.
WATCHES: The show uses Nixon
watches. For the Flight Suit, you want the
Dork. For the Duty Blues, you'll want the
Scout.
MARINE GEAR:
Shout-outs to Chad Matich for giving me info on where he got his own gear.
A little research yielded several links-- Thank You's to Major Venture of the Colonial Fleet for chasing down several of these.
Black or OD Green
Fatigues (Fleet uses 4 pocket black, and woodland uses 2 pocket OD green) Also,
try Brigade Quartermaster: BDU
Jacket/Tops
Tactical Vest (The tactical vest used is the Mil-Force
AP-1V, can be found at Airsoft retailers)
Tactical Helmet (The tactical helmet used is the G&P USMC Type Helmet in
black). Another alternative: The Giro Bad Lieutenant Helmet.
Tactical Goggles: (The tactical goggles used are A-Tac Tactical Goggles, which I got at this retailer).
Another alternative is found here
(same seller).
Marine Tactical Boots.
Found at Galls.com.
Sidearm:
(Note from Chad:) In the new season, they use an F-N Five Seven that's been modified. The closest airsoft replica I could find and modify was a Tokyo Marui CZ-75
High Grade. I still have to buy wood grips for it. This is the gun I
got.
Rifle:
(Note from Chad:) Unfortunately no airsoft manufacturer has made a replica of the Berretta CX4 rifle. Fortunately for me, Starbuck carries a H&K G36C in the episode "Lay Down Your Burdens", which makes this a canon rifle to use with a Marine
uniform.
Black Nylon Tactical Rig &
Holster: Uncle Mikes Tac Holster is
recommended.
Knee &
Elbow Pads:
Blackhawk Hellstorm equipment can be picked up at a local Military Surplus
store or ordered online.
Caprica Rescue Jacket: (During the Caprica Rescue episode "Lay Down Your Burdens", the Marines are actually wearing a OD Green —65 Field Jacket over their fatigues.)
Knife: Bayonet
from Actiongear.com.
